I am so happy with my last two assignment results for this subject, but I am now totally swamped with life as I try to complete my other assignments and take time to travel with my husband for his third shoulder operation. I am feeling over whelmed and super glad that I have two amazing sons who are happy and busy enough that I don’t feel like I am neglecting them while I try and fit everything in before I start my prac. My checklist is complete, but I now have to find the time to do some planning before I start in the classroom. My work place which is a kindergarten will be going though their assessment and rating with the department while I am on my prac so that also means that any extra time I have at the moment apart from my three trips to cairns (four hours away) in the last two weeks will be spent helping to prepare for this so as not to leave them in the lurch. Life is so busy and I just don’t seem to be able to find the time to record my Blog Posts as often as I should be. Okay, time for a deep breath and some perspective. 🙂 I can do it !!!
cant believe my assignment mark !!!
Wow, what a week, absolutley cannot believe the mark that I got for my assignment – 17.5/19 🙂 so happy with that. However this week has shaped up to be just as crazy as the last few months have been for me and work/home/study life 😦 I cant believe that my prac is just around the corner and I am only now getting a chance to really read and digest the prac booklet……luckily i have already met with my prac teacher a few times over the past few weeks. I am actually really looking forward to teaching these older kids – I usually teach in a Kindy (which i love) but i also love a good challenge 🙂 I do have concerns about the access to ICTs in this classroom and the fact that the class is using the C2C curriculum. Will be interesting to see how things go, but i am now just concentrating on adding planning to the lessons and concentrating on the details that make a lesson a success or not. Fingers crossed X
Interesting learning………………but still struggling for time :(
Well the last two weeks have been absolutely crazy busy for me and my work place and my family. Life is so busy and hectic as it is I’m sure for most of my peers studying this subject. I have finally found some time in my crazy schedule to complete assignment two – after many 3am finishes this week. On top of my normal full time work, I have had two work meeting after hours and some professional development this week as well. I have also managed to squeeze in a visit to my school where I will doing my prac and have attended a planning meeting with two of the teachers. That leads me to my point here, a teachers life is BUSY !!! After sitting with the teachers until 5.30pm today, I have realised that the school i will attending use what is called the C2C and it is not quite what I imagined for my prac experience – this is an initiative of Far North Queensland and is quite regimented in this school its delivery. I know it is not like that in every school and they have some really great resources provided by the C2C, but sadly there does not seem to be a lot of room or time for flexibility if the outcomes are to be achieved – quite sad for grade one i thought 😦

Hmmmmmmmm………..maybe not as much progress as I thought ???
Okay, so after feeling quite nervous about my assignment, and then sitting up all week until 2.30am each morning and backing that up with work the next day and another assignment to hand in on Monday and one that I haven’t even started to hand in in two weeks…………I finally got myself to a point where I had convinced myself that my assignment was okay. I know its not great, because try as i might, I just don’t know how to do some things yet, but I was thinking my arguments were good and valid and my presentation was okay. Then I went ahead and checked out some of the other assignments that you guys have done and lets say, if I thought I could do just one more 2.30am finish tonight, I would. I feel very incompetent right now and not at all confident with my work. I still have the referencing to go yet – but that is a tomorrow issue 😦 I really need to try and get some sleep for my little people at Kindy tomorrow, but now I am fully stressing out that I wont pass this assignment. I would love to be able to ask for some ideas with extras that might be able to boost my marks a little – does anyone have any knowledge they are happy to share with me ??? Well done everyone else, I’m off to try and sleep ;()

Week Three Reflection
Ha Ha , I just had to comment and let you know that my 14 year old son is also getting cranky with me asking him questions all the time – but luckily for me – I have a 12 year son as well and he is more than happy to prove how much smarter than me he is !!!
WOW what another full on week, it seems never ending. I so agree with Alisia this week I feel so overwhelm with EDC3100 and ICT, let me also make the comment that my 14 year old is getting frustrated with me asking for help all the time. EDC 3100 has lived up its grueling, unforgiving, relentless reputation, and I fallen victim!
Week three has been very frustrated it has taken two weeks to find a prep teachers blog.

It has been a hard slog…. Assignment 1
WOW !!! okay that was fantastic Maria ! Now I am feeling a little underwhelmed with my own artefact ;/ Well done mate – hope you get an awesome mark for that – I wish i could work out how to do more of that fancy stuff, I’m getting there, but still not quite yet 🙂

Progress at long last………….I think :)
Well this week has been another episode of crazy at my life, but among all of the busy, crazy stuff, I actually feel like I have really achieved something with my ICTs understanding this week. During my time playing on the internet at 2.30am most mornings this week :() to make my online artefact I actually came across some really cool and helpful sites. The one that I used for my assignment was a web page creator site called Wix. This was recommended to me by my 12 year old son, so I thought it must be good straight away !!! It was easy enough to follow for even me – who is very technically challenged to follow. I would recommend this to anyone who needs things spelled out for them when using technology. I have included a link for this

Here we go again……..
Now that I have had a look at the learning path this week and commented on a few Blog posts, I am going to start to do some work on my Online Artifact. This is one thing that I am sadly very slow at developing. My skills have definitely improved since week one, but i still have a long way to go until I have something that is worthy of submitting !!!
